A VISUAL LANGUAGE OF OPPOSITES

Between Mexico and the USA, there is intense intercourse both historical and contemporary“… each of us carries within us our Mexico and our United States, a dark and bloody border that we only dare to cross at night… the border of our differences with others and our battles with ourselves .”- Carlos Fuentes

Light and its obstacles are the theme and focus of these works. They are simple translucent fabrics suspended in front of LED or natural sunlight. The filtration of the light offers a range of possible effects and serves different purposes. The historic site and its brilliant native son inform and complement the work.
